Top Cycling Routes in the Fermanagh Lakelands
1. Castle Archdale Family Cycle Trail: Ideal for families and beginners, this 10-kilometer loop starts at Castle Archdale Country Park. The route is mostly flat and takes you through enchanting woodland, along the shores of Lough Erne, and past historical ruins.
2. Scarplands Cycle Trail: This cycle route, which starts in the picturesque village of Belcoo and ends at Lough Navar Forest with the reward of unrivalled panoramic views of Lough Erne, leads you through Forest service lands on a coarse gravel trail with 1,880m elevation, making it a trail for biking enthusiasts. The route can be completed as a 60km linear route, with the option of including two shorter loops awarding cyclists the opportunity to complete 100km of trail. The shorter loops are Aghanaglack Loop, a 21km loop through Ballimtempo Forest and the Lough Navar Loop, an 18km loop cycle through Lough Navar Forest.
3. Mountain Bike Trails at Blessingbourne Estate: Blessingbourne Estate’s exhilarating 13k Mountain Bike Trails and pump track provides one of Northern Ireland’s premier Mountain Biking experiences. Located within the grounds of the 550 acre country Estate. Set in the heart of woodlands and wildlife nestled on the edge of County Tyrone and the Sperrins and the Fermanagh Lakelands. Enjoy cycling through the Estate’s woods and take in the private lakes and nature reserve.
4. Florence Court Red Trail: This trail takes you through the forest park at Florence Court with a steep climb rewarding you with views of the mountains and lakes of Fermanagh and beyond. Along the way enjoy a riverside walk and the historic landscape around the 18th-century mansion. There are over 15km of trails at Florence Court.

FEAR - Fermanagh Endurance Adventure Race - 28 September 2024
FEAR is a multi-sport competition consisting of three sporting disciplines cycling, trail running and kayaking. Immerse yourself in the Cuilcagh Lakelands Geopark as you cycle through quiet back roads that cut through this unique and spectacular limestone and sandstone landscape.Then experience the wetter side of Fermanagh as you take to the water for 2 challenging kilometres along Lough Erne’s rocky shores – and if the 304 metre near vertical climb to the top of the Magho Cliff Challenge doesn’t take your breath away, then maybe the panoramic view it offers at the top will!
Lakelander Gravel Grinder - 5th October 2024
The Lakelander Gravel Grinder is Ireland’s premier gravel cycling challenge. Expect wilderness, remoteness and spectacular views across this virtually unexplored part of Ireland. Distance options – Big Dog 100km, Mongrel 60km or Little Dog 50km. Expect tough climbs, fast sweeping downhills and rolling countryside passing loughs, stunning vistas and even a few Game of Thrones filming locations. A tough but enjoyable day in the saddle and all in the fine company of like-minded gravel cyclists from all over Ireland and further afield.
