About
A lunchtime talk at Enniskillen Castle, exploring the subject of County Fermanagh, its placenames and what the Ordnance Survey can tell us about our County's past.
The OS200 project team will be resident in Enniskillen Castle in September 2023 and as part of the programme of engagement they will be hosting a lunchtime talk entitled "Fermanagh, Place-Names and the Ordnance Survey".
OS200 is a 3-year digital humanities project jointly funded by the Irish Research Council (IRC) and the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC). The project aims to gather historic Ordnance Survey (OS) maps and texts to form a single freely accessible online resource for academic and public use.
Community engagement is key to OS200. They are committed to co-producing new insights about mapping, placenames, and place uses with communities as well as sharing information, data, and scholarship.
This event is part of European Heritage Open Days 2023
