About

This is an opportunity to explore the places that have disappeared or become hidden in our landscape such as 'Newtown' in Garrison. Do you know of other places that have become lost?

The OS200 project team will be resident in Enniskillen Castle in September 2023 and as part of the programme of engagement they will be hosting a series of workshops for individuals, groups or organisations who wish to engage with the project theme of Lost Places, Lost Spaces, and who wish to contribute new insights or placenames (both historic or contemporary) to their maps.

OS200 is a 3-year digital humanities project jointly funded by the Irish Research Council (IRC) and the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC). The project aims to gather historic Ordnance Survey (OS) maps and texts to form a single freely accessible online resource for academic and public use.

Community engagement is key to OS200. They are committed to co-producing new insights about mapping, placenames, and place uses with communities as well as sharing information, data, and scholarship.

This event is part of European Heritage Open Days 2023
