About
Calling all Maguires, and other famous Fermanagh families such as the McManuses, McHughs, McAuleys, Cassidys, Lunneys, Keenans, Gilleeces… and many more!
We welcome all those with an interest in Fermanagh's Medieval history to immerse themselves in the unique story of our islands, loughs and landscapes.
Join us for the Maguire History Gathering taking place from 11-12 May 2023 with our sister festival Éigse na hÉirne, from 12-14 May 2023, exploring the Annals of Ulster.
The Maguire History Gathering is a two day festival of tours, talks, fieldtrips (wellies at the ready!) and social meetups.
Begin on Thursday with a tour of Hugh "The Hospitable" Maguire's Enniskillen Castle - stronghold of the ruling chieftains; then take the boat to the beautiful Devenish Island - Maguire burial place and 6th century Monastic site with a 12th century Roundtower.
On the Friday, travel to Sgiath Gabhra the inauguration site of the Maguire Kings; discover the fascinating history of the five unique Maguire Chalices; get tips and tools for researching your ancestry.
Enjoy Friday evening's social gathering with a talk centred on life in Medieval Fermanagh linking the two festivals with the end of the Maguire History Gathering and the beginning of Éigse na hÉirne.
You can book per day for the Maguire History Gathering festival at £35 per day, however, if you book the full festival you will get a discount for £60 for two days. Book the Maguire History Gathering here: https://fermanaghandomagh.digitickets.co.uk/category/46642?branches.branchID=2410
