Join us on Castle Island (Irvine's Island) for the exciting launch of the Lough Erne Heritage Exhibition on Friday, 4th October 2024. Immerse yourself in local history and heritage with fascinating talks and exhibits on the island, which holds a special place in the history of Lough Erne.

Time: Boats departs to Castle Island from 7:00 PM (Castle Jetty, Broadmeadow, Enniskillen)
Location: Castle Island (Irvine's Island)

Lough Erne Heritage History shared by the local organization
Speakers (Starting at 7:30 PM):
Joan Carson (née Irvine): Insights into the boat-building legacy of the Irvine family, former owners of Castle Island.
Eugene Brazil: A look into the history of commercial fishing on Lough Erne.
Bryan Osborne: The story of the iconic Lough Erne steamers.

The evening will be chaired by Nigel Irvine, a Lough Erne enthusiast who has conducted extensive research on the islands. Don't miss this unique opportunity to explore Lough Erne's rich maritime history and hear from passionate speakers!"
