Jim Fee Clay Sculpture

About

A collective show in celebration of 10 years of workshops with Jim Fee

Ceramic Artist Jim Fee has delivered clay workshops with Action Mental Health (AMH), Drumcoo for ten years, teaching the processes of hand built pottery and sculpture. During that time members of AMH Men's Shed and clients from AMH New Horizons have produced a wide range of ceramic items using a number of different techniques. Most have not handled clay since leaving school and the workshops promote positive mental health and wellbeing – either regaining it or maintaining it.

Their remarkable accomplishments are celebrated in this exhibition and every piece tells a story. Jim's workshops develop clients' confidence in the creative process of making pottery and ceramic sculpture. For some, this is an enjoyable pastime, for others a new-found passion. The exhibition demonstrates the tremendous value of creativity in improving the quality of life for the individual, as well as the importance of the arts for society as a whole.
