Irish première of ‘Requiem for Solace’, by Norwegian composer Kim André Arnesen.
The extremely beautiful and moving 50 minute work was commissioned and performed by the Nidaros Cathedral Boys' Choir in 2014 and includes parts of the original Requiem Mass text, a poem by Emily Dickinson and a remembrance poem of unknown origin.
Audiences are in for a fantastic musical and emotional journey from beginning to end of this Concert which also includes well known classical favourites by John Rutter, Gabriel Fauré and others.
The Concert features a chamber ensemble of strings, percussion and trumpet, but also soprano soloist Anna Gregg. Anna is the recent winner of the ‘Deborah Voight Opera Prize’ at the Glenarm Festival of Voice and was the ‘Northern Ireland Opera Young Opera Voice of 2023’. We are also delighted to have a local Child Soprano join the choir - Choral Scholar Victoria Moore.
