About

Join us at the upcoming Lisnaskea Historical Society talk featuring Dr. Jonathan Hamill, a renowned historian and author on 'Desmonds: Fashioning the Future of Garment Manufacturing 1885-2004'.
Dr Hamill's talk will explore the influence of Desmonds which only 50 years was the largest privately-owned business in Northern Ireland with 11 factories and over 3.500 workers. Two of those factories were in Enniskillen and Irvinestown, providing employment to generations for more than a hundred years.
The talk is scheduled for Monday, November 20th, at the Castle Park Centre in Lisnaskea, commencing at 7:30 pm. Dr. Hamill's book 'Desmonds: Fashioning the Future of Garment Manufacturing 1885-2004' will be available for purchase at the event.
Everyone is welcome. Entry is £4 and refreshments will be served afterwards.
