About
A fun (paddle)sports day for all. Teams of 4 to 8 people. Get together with family, friends, neighbours, work colleagues - bring a team or join a team on the day.
Open to all, members and non-members and all abilities.
You can enter with less than 4 and we will try to combine groups to make full teams on the day if needed. Teams will be capped at 8 for safety purposes.
No problem if some on your team have never paddled before (although some experience will help you be more competitive!), as we will have qualified instructors to accompany each team and provide coaching before each activity takes place and support during the events.
We also have a full range of craft; stable and straight running kayaks, canoes, SUPs, sit-on-tops and rafted canoes, suitable for all abilities and those with extra needs.
We have a series of exciting competitions planned that will take place over the afternoon. Every activity is suitable for all abilities, but no problem if some on your team want to sit out any of the rounds.
Activities to include (depending on conditions on the day):
Around the Island Town Race / Orienteering
Fill Your Boots / Bucket - Canoe Relay
Tug of Water
Roll, Roll, Roll Yer Boat (for those that can…)
And more….
There will be time for a rest, light refreshments (provided) and some coaching between each activity.
Each family / clan will be awarded points and an overall winner declared at the end of the day.
Prizes for all and of course bragging rights for the winners.
Prerequisites
We recommend that participants should be at least 10 years old and able to take part in an afternoon's outdoor activities.
Ideally, most of your team will have some small amount of paddling experience (e.g. be on a beginners course with us) or more, but as above, no problem to include some new paddlers.
If you have any questions, please get in touch, we are happy to help.
Equipment
We will provide all paddlesport equipment your team needs; kayaks / canoes, SUPs, spraydecks, paddles, buoyancy aids and helmets.
The only thing we can't supply is your personal paddling wear.
A wetsuit is not necessary but if you have one that's great. Alternatively, comfortable outdoor clothes that are appropriate to the weather, fleeces, tracksuits etc, will be perfectly fine. You do need to be wearing shoes you can get wet.
A full set of dry clothes including shoes and a towel are essential to bring with you to change into after the event if needed.
Facilities
The Lakeland Forum will be open to 6 pm and you can change and shower there for a small fee.
If you want to change beside your car (as many paddlers do) a changing towel and a mat to stand on make this a much easier and more discrete process, or a large bin liner to sit on on the way home in your paddling kit works well too.

Booking Instructions
In the ticket section at the top of the event webpage, select the number of each type of ticket needed in the "Qty" dropdown option to make up your team (e.g. 4 x Non-member Adult, 3 x Member U18, etc).
Then click the yellow "Add to Cart" button below the ticket options and you will be prompted to login or taken straight to the cart where the correct total should be calculated ready for you to pay by credit or debit card.
A booking form will need to be filled in for each type of ticket selected, so you may have to duplicate some information - sorry, that's the only way we could set it up to be sure to collect the right info.
It's best if one person can book for a full team, but individuals can book themselves to be added to your team if they know your "Team Name" and "Lead Contact Name" from your initial team booking.
If you have any questions or problems booking, please get in touch and we can help get you booked on.

Customer comments
"Great to get out onto the water, with other club members while still being safe, following regulations getting a bit of exercise and some much needed social interaction" - M
"We took out family membership after watching how much craic our son was having & how it helped him regain his fitness levels following a football injury. The coaches are so skilled & supportive . We now enjoy paddling on the lakes & in the sea, most months of the year. It's hard to describe just how relaxing it is & how beautiful our local scenery is. I think we are all the better for it - and a bit fitter!" - B

Covid-19 Statement:
Erne Paddlers has followed all the recommended procedures, and more, to properly mitigate the risk of covid-19 transmission. We have conducted a review of our operating procedures and added covid-19 considerations to our risk assessments, conducted staff training and will provide all the relevant information to our participants and members as they book onto our courses.
Club sport is now allowed with mitigating procedures in place under the NI Public Health regulations and guidelines. From the CANI Guidelines, "During active participation of sport, you do not have to continuously maintain social distancing", so paddlesport can be conducted as normal and for the most part social distance occurs naturally.
Latest Covid-19 public health advice: "It is strongly recommended that, given the high transmission rates of the Omicron variant, everyone attending a sporting event should take a Lateral Flow Test prior to attending."
We ask that all participants please:
Take a Lateral Flow Test before attending a club event or coached pool session.
bring their own hand gel and wash their hands before joining the session, again after leaving
follow the instructors' guidance on social distancing.
Avoid car sharing outside your household, or put mitigating procedures in place (sit as far apart as you can, wear masks, keep windows open, keep journey times short and wash hands).
Avoid congregating before and after the event
Do not participate in club activities if you are currently shielding, displaying covid19 symptoms or have been in close contact with anyone displaying symptoms in the last 14 days.
Contact the club if you have been on a session and test positive within 7 days.
Please note, public toilets and changing facilities may not be open. Participants should arrive changed and ready or change at their car.
